Charming pair of Staffordshire blue and white pottery dairy jugs.
Marked for 1 quart and each decorated with delightful transfer print that incorporates pastoral scenes along with the Royal coat of arms.

This was to show that the jugs complied with the new law passed in 1824 of uniform measurements which was defined by the British weights and measurements act. Hence many potters were quick to add the Royal insignia, as it showed the jug or other wares complied to the recently passed law .
