A fine Georgian period fruitwood treen candle stand. The candle stand is in fruitwood probably apple or pear. The base is turned and sits very proud on 6 beautifully crafted turned fruitwood button shaped feet and attaches to a baluster stem which has a telescopic rise and fall facility. The dish top is where the candlestick would stand Is so sweet with a turned centre piece see photos really exquisite and the rise and fall was to keep the light at a constant level. The candle stand has stunning mixed fruitwood colours so rich and warm Is the patina Makes you want to feel and hold it and is so very tactile
