We have for sale a very striking copper and brass WMF lidded ewer or claret jug.

This ewer is of a art nouveau curved conical truncated form extending to hinged domed lid terminating in a bass finial. The body of the Ewer or jug is beautifully planished, and decorated to the lower third with 6 stylised art nouveau angels. The body is finished with a simple but elegant brass handle. The base of the claret jug carries the WMF Ostrich mark, and probably dates to somewhere around 1910.

The ewer is approximately 11.5 inches (29.2cm) high and 4.9 inches (12.5cm) in diameter at its base. The ewer is in a very good antique condition with a good surface patina commensurate with its age.
