Description
We have for sale a very decorative sturdy and extremely useful mahogany metamaporhic library chair which readily converts into a library steps. This atractive late Victorian Chair dating to between 1180 and 1900 is of a lovely arts and crafts form consisting of an angular rectilinear back with with cutout arts and crafts motifs and other details from which extends a hinged seat all over a study frame with a divided under shelf. The beauty of this chair is that design allows it to fold over so that it forms a set of four steps. In both the chair mode and step mode the frame is stabalised by a steel hook ended bar which neatly clips into either a ring attached to the front left leg in chair mode or a ring attached to the left hand back in steps mode.
This sturdy chair is approximately 35 inches (89cm) high, 17 (43cm) inches wide, 14 inches (35cm)deep and is in a good antique condition but does carry one or two good repairs and the use related wear that one would expect of a highly functional piece of furniture of this nature.
