Description

A very good 12inch terrestrial globe by Weber Costello & Co of Chicago Heights, Illinois, USA. It has a full ring cast iron meridian, mounted in a cradle. The base is a cast metal tripod stand with paw feet.
The laminated wood horizon ring is finished with a paper scale showing months, zodiac signs, etc, and is printed "Copyright 1898 by TH Costello" on the rim.
The paper gores are generally in good order there are water/coffee? marks in one area and one small area, about 1cm, of surface damage. The Ring, likewise , shows its age but is undamaged. It shows Leningrad instead of St Petersburg, therefore is post 1924 in date.
