Description
A small and elegant gilded brass letter/paper clip made in the 19th century by Merry, Phipson & Parker (see impressed stamp on the backplate) The design, of scrolls, leaves and a flower, gave the Victorian lady a decorative means of keeping her writing table in order! The iron spring is possibly an old replacement. The surface of the clip is in lovely order, with the gilding bright and showing little sign of use.DateLate 19th Century :
