Description

A charming and decorative landscape oil on panel depicting the old bridge near Welham, Market Harborough. The painting is created in an eighteenth-century style which gives it a great period look and the quality of the work is excellent throughout. The painting is signed and dated, the signature is slightly illegible and only the surname of Yates can be discerned, the date is 1953. The painting does retain a label on the reverse written by the artist at a later date that describes the location and creation of the work. The piece has been professionally cleaned and is in good condition. The frame is of the period but has been later painted. The whole has a great period country house decorative look and is ready to hang.
