19th Century Rosewood Swiss Music Box Inlaid

19th Century Rosewood Swiss Music Box with Inlaid Marquetry circa 1880This beautiful piece was once a music box. A previous owner has removed the mechanism and lined it with a cream fabric. The box itself has gorgeous marquetry to the top and the front. The marquetry consists of a stylised drum and trumpet on a bed of flowers and is surrounded by boxwood stringing. The front panel also has an inlaid boxwood stringing.
Sadly no key.
The original finish was beyond repair, so was stripped off and the piece was finished using traditional french polishing techniques and waxed.
Dimensions: Height 8" Width 15" Depth 10".
