This antique black leather bag was once used by Midland Bank for carrying cash. It features a classic Victorian/Edwardian style with a Gladstone design and is made from high-quality leather. The nicely patterned leather shows signs of slight crazing and wear and tear.
"Midland Bank Ltd" is stamped on the brass lock the key is slightly temperamental but does work if you go carefully. Two leather handles are securely riveted to the body. The bag stands on eight metal studs.

The leather has been cleaned and conditioned with the appropriate product.. The lining material is intact, no rips or tears it is quite dirty and heavily marked with ink stains which add to its distinctive character. It would benefit from a clean or even re-line with appropriate fabric.
