Description

This is a handsome 1960s chest of drawers made by Wrighton in the 1960s. Made using Sapele veneers. Five drawers with small brass coloured handles. The top drawer is a darker colour than the others giving a pleasing two tone appearance. The chest has been restored using our usual procedure. The wood has not been stained to allow the natural colours to shine through. The top drawer is slightly shorter in height than the other four.

Wrighton Furniture (F. Wrighton & Sons, formerly Wrighton Distinctive Furniture) was founded in 1888 in London. Wrighton is also well known for the quality kitchen units they produced.

We use state-of-the-art water borne lacquers as used by manufacturers. They have been certified to FIRA Standard 6250 for surfaces in heavy/severe use. The finishing process we have developed maintains the timber's colour and warmth and enhances figure, grain definition and chatoyance.
