Description

A rare find, I have never come across this tea caddy before. This style of caddy from this late Victorian period is usually made from Oak with the silver plated fittings.

This one is made from a winning combination of Birdseye Maple trimmed in rare and sought-after Palm wood.

There is a swing handle to either side of the box and stands on four bun feet. The lid opens to reveal a fitted double compartment interior with the original lining intact one for Green tea and one for Black tea.

Complete with a working key and in superb condition dating to the late Victorian era, c.1880/1890. 9 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" tall.
