Description

A delightful set of Victorian postal or letter scales made by the famous Sampson Mordan of London, signed across the front of the balance.

The letter pan to the right is engraved with the letter rates dating the scale between 1871 and 1885, this one is rather nice with the mounted bone label, engraved and inked, to the top of the base.

There is a full set of brass weights. Professionally re-polished to gleam, they remain in superb condition. 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 4" tall.
