Description

A stunning pair of French made binoculars or field glasses dating to around 1917. Made from polished brass, they have been meticulously re-polished to gleam, which looks stunning paired with the cognac coloured leather.

They focus wonderfully and adjust to fit comfortably across the bride of the nose, there are also sun brass sun shades which pull out to reduce glare in bright light and sunshine.

The eyepieces are signed L. Petit, PARIS and the brass engraved with the magnification 4 1/2 x and Mk V Special 43695, also stamped with the military crows foot these would have been British Officer's Issue binoculars and come with a case (wear commensurate with age and use), the case embossed "J Cripps 1917".

Excellent condition measuring 4 1/2" wide x 5" tall extending to 6 1/2" while fully extended and the sun shades pulled out. The case measures 5 1/2" x 3" x 6 1/2" tall.
