Description

An outstanding late Victorian inkwell made from two cattle horns and mounted with silver plated fittings, a stunning combination and always highly sought-after I haven't had one of these for several years.

The large inkwell is made from a hefty piece of crystal with a hinged lid, engraved clearly as a presentation piece in 1897, some usual wear to the plate on the interior.

Below the ring handle, is an integral pen rest for one's dip pen (the one shown is a new example which I am including in the sale to complete the look)

Excellent condition measuring 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" tall. The glass inkwell measuring 2 1/2" square.
