Description

A truly impressive and large figural inkwell, Victorian in era, dating to around 1880. Beautifully cast in English brass, the Dove is beautifully executed with superb detail. The hinged head of the bird is what creates the inkwell which retains his original two coloured glass eyes.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a removable ink chamber made from fine glass with a gilded rim. A superb piece in excellent condition. The base footprint having a diameter measuring 5 1/2" x 6" tall.
