Description

An exquisite small French ebonised box dating to around 1860, I have never come across one similar, most unusual to be such a small size, it would make the most elegant pill box.

The top is beautifully decorated with inlaid cut brass and a polished silver coloured metal, all reflecting the light, the lid trimmed in polished brass edging.

The brass push button mechanism opens the box revealing the polished brass fittings on the interior. The box is not signed but I would expect it to be made by Tahan of Paris.

Excellent condition, measuring just 3 1/4" x 2 1/8" " x 1 1/4" high.
