Description

This is a wonderful hand woven soft woollen Saroukh carpet which dates from around 1920. The carpet has a very pleasing design typical of Saroukhs with branches of blossom and foliage, some of which form a pretty central medallion on a warm deep red ground, all set within deep blue floral borders. This is in really good condition for its age with some even wear and complete ends and selvedges. Saroukhs are known for their curvaceous designs and their soft lustrous wool,
This large carpet is a really good room size, measuring 430 cms by 317 cms and would really warm a large room.
