Description

This is a most impressive hand carved gilt wood console table dating from the mid 19th century circa 1850. The fabulous table has a fine pair of griffin like creatures, one either end majestically supporting the substantial rouge marble top. The exuberant style of the table suggests an Irish origin, most likely from a grand hall. The Italian rouge marble surface has a most attractive colour and is wonderfully figured and in excellent order. The table is a great size for a large hallway measuring 120 cms wide, 94 cms high and 35cms deep overall, the marble being 32 cms in depth.
