Description

This is a beautiful example of a Kashgai carpet, South West Persia, dating from around 1920. The carpet is evidently more finely worked than many Kashgais with a great deal of detail and it has a very pretty and cheerful colour palette. The carpet features many stylised floral and zoomorphic motifs filling the indigo field around the three linked medallions. Although the carpet has the usual standard deep indigo and madder red shades, it also has a particularly nicely abrashed lighter blue as well as a sunny yellow and bright red shade which really lift it. A most appealing and cheerful example in excellent condition overall.
This measures 147 cms by 82 cms and would add some colour to any situation.
