Description

This Victorian papier mache chair is a really attractive example in very good condition with a most characterful appearance. The chair is beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl and is extensively hand gilded and painted with colourful flower designs to the back. The chair has a good rattan canework seat which is in excellent condition, (not normally the case with these delicate chairs) and comes with its original horsehair filled pad cushion which is buttoned and piped. The structure is good and sound, with no damage to the frame.
The chair is measuring 90 cms high 47 cms wide by 43 cms deep.
The seat is 40 cms high from the floor.
