Description

This is a good pair of Japanese watercolour paintings dating from the Meiji period circa 1880. The oval watercolours are expertly painted depicting scenes of Japan, one a winter landscape and the other of rural waterways and boats. The paintings are beautifully framed in a fine pair of matching red lacquer frames which have a fabulous colour and are delicately hand painted with images of cherry blossom. These are in super condition and the frames measure 41 cms by 35 cms.
