Description

This is a beautiful pair of Italian Pietra Dura panels which date from the early 20th century. The panels are a matching pair and depict parrots upon the branches of a pear tree. These are made from carefully cut and polished coloured stone and marble set into a base panel of polished black marble. These have some beautiful shades to the stones and are superbly crafted, fitting together with great precision. Pietra Dura first appeared in Rome in the 16th century and reached its full maturity in Florence. These are both in excellent condition and measure 23 cms by 13 cms.
