Description

This is a very smart example of a cased taxidermy Eastern Rosella Parrot dating from the early 20th Century. The parrot is perched upon a small cut branch amidst moss and brush set against a watercolour background and enclosed within an attractive eight glass octagonal zinc framed wall hanging display case.It measures 35 cms by 24 cms by 8.5 cms deep. The full paper trade label to the lower left shows that the taxidermist is W.F. Homer of Forest Gate London. A label verso reads 'caught by F. S. Male, Jan 6th 1923'. This has been very well done, the parrot's expression almost as though he was about to speak to you. It is in excellent condition throughout.
