Description

This is a most decorative hand painted polychrome chest in the Regency style dating from the late 19th Century. The chest has a warm cream background with green, brick red and black to the classical motifs. It has four graduated drawers decorated in classical style with husks, flower garlands, a dragon and a swan. Below are two base cupboard doors decorated with portraits, all between pilaster supports. The cabinet also has a Nero Potoroos marble top which is beautifully polished and with a stunning veined figuring.
It measures 113 cms high, 60 cms wide and is 38 cms deep. In excellent order, the chest is both a useful and a beautiful piece.
