Description

This is a really charming Georgian tinsel picture in nice original condition bearing the date of publication as 1830. The picture depicts the actor Mr Edwin as Rodolfo. The hand coloured print is beautifully embellished with foil and metal enamels and cut out collage detail.

These antique tinsel pictures were popular in the early 19th century but are becoming increasingly hard to find now. This is a really good example and one of 18 of these we have recently acquired from a good collection. This is a really good example with a great subject and is in its original antique rosewood frame with inner gilt slip that suits it admirably.

The frame measures 37 cms by 32 cms .
