Description

This is a most imposing 19th Century Dutch marquetry chest with beautiful inlaid detail to both the front and sides. The chest has a wonderful rich colour to the mahogany and the satinwood inlay is a delightful golden colour. The drawers and surrounding cabinet have scrolling floral and leaf detail whilst the sides have stunning inlay framed panels of urns issuing flowers. The drawers have their original handles and the chest is flanked by solid mahogany inlaid pillars set within ormolu capitols. It has a solid figured marble top that is in lovely clean condition.
The chest is substantial in size measuring 159 cms high 94 cms wide by 46 cms deep.
