Description

This is a very decorative early 20th century Japanese Chinese screen with a lovely upper panel with figures holding a pennant approaching a pagoda. The hand coloured detail is in raised lacquer with beautiful painted gilding throughout the piece. The central painting has flying cranes either side above a lakeside pagoda scene with figure hauling a boat from the water.

The screen dates from around 1920 and is in excellent condition.
The screen measure 76 cms high by 65 cms wide.
