Description

This is a rare hand painted and gilded French Marble top, commode chest with gilt metal mounts dating from around 1870.

The chest is a lovely bombe shape with an oriental design to the hand painted panels. The decoration is hand chiselled in relief giving a good definition to the designs. The chest is in good sound condition with solid oak lining to the drawers which run freely.

This is a very useful size measuring 80 cms high by 108 cms wide by 40 cms deep.
