Description

This is a fabulous pair of Chinoiserie decorated and lacquered bookcase cabinets in the Regency style dating from the early 20th century circa 1920.

The pair are in stunning colours, superbly hand painted and gilded in relief with the raised figures having great style and detail. The cabinets are in outstanding condition throughout with a very handsome Regency design with painted raised faux bamboo columns to the sides having Georgian roundels above and below. The base has a shaped apron with outswept bracket feet and a waterfall design to the shelves above.
There is a useful drawer in the frieze with delightful raised Chinese gilded figures and these have their original carrying handles to the sides.
The cabinets have their original working locks and keys to the cabinets.

They measure 137 cms high by 68 cms wide by 29 cms deep.
An exceptionally rare pair (most likely one off pieces) and beautifully decorative.
