Description

This is a stunning mid 19th century mahogany Sewing table with mother of pearl inlaid detail dating from around 1870. The table has a hinged lid richly inlaid with trailing foliage and cornucopia in satinwood, fruitwood and mother of pearl with brass line inlay. The interior is beautifully fitted out with lidded compartments that are above a sliding pleated pink silk workbox. The table has a wonderful shape which has four carved scrolling supports beneath the workbox that are raised on a further three scrolls with central finial above an acanthus carved socle. This is all on a flame mahogany base with scroll feet and Regency roundel detail.
This is really good quality highly decorative piece from the mid 19th century.
The sewing table measures 76 cms high 54 cms wide by 41 cms deep.
