Description

This is a beautiful early 20th century carpet by the Tetex, Munich carpet manufacturing company with a wonderful rare colour palette dating from around 1900.The carpet is in very soft wool and is in the Agra style. Tetex were renowned for the quality and design of their carpets which were made in the early part of the 20th century, very much between the war years. It is a tufted hand woven carpet and yet has an incredibly soft handle and luxurious feel. The carpet is a very practical size being almost square so an ideal room size carpet. It has a delightful colour combination featuring a warm olive green central ground profuse with sky blue, pistachio, camel and coral tree and floral motifs. This is surrounded by a pretty candy pink wide border with further floral designs and a further narrow border in aubergine. The carpet is in good order overall with some light wear to the pile and some wear to the selvedges.

The carpet measures 258 cms by 246 cms.
