Description

This is a stunning Chinese lacquered four fold screen with a most dramatic design in beautiful original condition.
The colourful figures in carved and hand painted alabaster are raised in relief and set into the gilded circular panel which has carved detail to the crest and typical Chinese pierced design to the carved base stand. The full circle screen is very imposing with a bold Chinese setting with Pagoda Temple garden setting. The reverse is hand painted with gilt bamboo plants.
The screen measures 183 cms high (6ft) by 183 cms wide overall the circle measures 168 cms in diameter and each panel measures 46 cms wide.
