Description

This is a superb quality French Bookcase cabinet made completely of solid rosewood throughout. This is most unusual and extravagant as even the four large shelves and all the cabinet backboards are in heavy solid rosewood. This is a knockdown design so comes apart into panels and sections for ease of transport and installation and each individual section is very heavy due to the quality of this fine timber. The cabinet has a very practical design with a great storage capacity and multi positional shelving. The central door is glazed and has a decorative gilt bronze trellis panel behind the glass. This is raised on solid rosewood block tulip feet to the substantial base.

The cabinet measures 180 cms high 174 cms wide by 44 cms deep overall and is in excellent condition. Circa 1890.
