Description

This is a fabulous Chinese carved wood lion dog dating from the late 19th Century. The characterful lion dog is wonderfully carved and beautifully hand painted and gilded in traditional strong iron red shade with gold highlights throughout. The hair of the lion dog is exceptionally well carved and he has a sun motif to his head and side and a ball at his feet. This piece is in excellent order and is a really good size, measuring 28 cms long, 17 cms high and 13 cms deep.
