Description

This is a beautiful Chinese chinoiserie mantel clock in super order dating from the late 19th Century. The case is in a striking, warm scarlet colour with hand gilded chinoiserie scenes depicting traditional Chinese landscape. The base has bracket feet of typical Chinese design and the excellent pagoda top has a large central finial. The clock has a silvered dial with Roman numerals and winds on a key running for eight days striking on a gong on the hour and half hour.

Recently serviced and overhauled this keeps good time and is ready for use.

The case is a good size measuring 36 cms high 20 cms wide by 15 cms deep
