Description

This is a beautiful hand woven Kirman carpet dating from around 1930.

The carpet has a very well drawn design with a central flowerhead medallion in a warm ivory field and colourful borders of meandering vines and flowering plants.

As is common in Kirman carpets flowers have the starring role in the design and in this one pretty coral pink carnations feature throughout.

The colour palette is a real delight with several pastel shades present including various hues of pink and depths of blue. The deep azure blue really defines the design.

Kirman carpets are woven using the finest of wools which helps to accentuate the detail in the design and also makes the carpet feel incredibly soft. It has a good even pile throughout and is in excellent ready to use condition.

This is a great room sized carpet measuring 348 cms by 266 cms and looks fabulous down.
