Description

This is a beautiful and fine quality Ghom carpet which dates from around 1900. The carpet is mainly woven with very fine 'kork' wool and has silk highlights throughout. The warm cream field has a striking central floral medallion in a rich red earth colour the spandrels are also floral and in a rich warm red and the carpet has deep floral borders which include light blue, pinks, green and gold. The high knot count can be seen in the photograph of the carpet reverse. It is in excellent condition and is a good size, measuring 204 cms by 141 cms.
