Description

This is a charming early Victorian hand coloured engraving with good strength of colour. The picture depicts a gamekeeper and his son with the days haul of pheasants and rabbits. The engraving is after the original painting by F.R. Lee of the Royal Academy, and was etched and hand coloured by G.H. Every. This was published in London in 1841 by S. Hollyer of 21 John St. Pentonville. The engraving is mounted within its original burr walnut frame. The picture is a good size measuring 59cms by 53cms.
