Description

This is a beautiful finely woven antique Kashan prayer rug from Central Iran which dates from the early 20th century. The carpet has an extremely intricate and attractive design, the ivory field with flowering Tree of Life beneath the mihrab enclosed by deep flower filled borders. The main shades are indigo, soft coral, deep terracotta and ivory and there is a narrow yellow ochre border which sets it off well. It is in great condition and measures 211 cms by 130 cms
