Description

This is a splendid terracotta lion of some scale which dates from around 1850. The lion, possibly French, is in rampant pose with his front paws, big claws drawn, upon a shield. He is very handsome indeed with the most fantastic mane. The lion is a grand size, measuring 98 cms high, 43 cms wide and 51 cms deep and would add great character to any garden. He is in remarkably good condition with just one or two minor nibbles.
