Maker: J R Gaunt, London.
This style of badge was issued to the rail staff from 1939 to 1978.
There are surface marks associated with normal use and age.
The makers mark is on the centre bar and is quite rubbed but just about legible.
There is a little damage to the orange enamel above the 4. Please see photos.
Both lugs are present on the back although one is quite bent.
Approximate dimensions: diameter 46.4mm, bar across the middle 52.8mm long, weight 21.8 grams.
