This beautiful 19th Century acid etched glass panel is a fine example. Acid etched glass was a popular decorative and practical feature used on front door panels, internal doors, windows, skylights, and even mirrors. The etched glass offered privacy without sacrificing natural light, essential in Victorian homes with limited lighting.
