Description

A superb English hand carved study of a Belgian draught horse Stallion.

This exquisitely carved study of a Belgian draught horse dates to circa 1930 and is hand carved in dense beech wood. It is a very detailed sculpture and the artist has captured this muscular heavy horse superbly. He is well groomed with a well presented tail, mane, and beautifully feathered feet. His expression shows a fine temperament and good pedigree.

The sculpture is displayed on a fixed naturalistic base which has rounded ends and a textured carved surface.

This piece is in good condition with a rich colour and waxed patina.

English, circa 1930

Height 25.5cm x width 24cm x depth 9.5cm
