Description

This exceptional carriage clock is in remarkable original condition. It has an eight day striking movement operating on the hours and half hours on a well toned gong with the addition of the hour repeat button at the top of the case for nighttime use.

This lovely ornate clock is completely original. It shows very little signs of age and handling and is in superb condition. The case is of the best quality, it is ornate and wonderfully cast and crisply finished by hand with a chasing chisel giving sharp detailing and finished in rich pure gold with virtually no signs of wear.
The dial is circular in white enamel with black numerals and is set into a hand engraved engine turned solid gilt mask.

The clock was purchased from a private collection and has not been on the market for a long time.

The clock is in very good working order. It has been tested by our horologist who agreed this beautiful clock was from a top quality maker with its high style and luxurious case. We have shown an illustration from a book which shows a similar, very high quality case.
