Tandem Opera Carriage.
Very Rare, Fully restored French Tandem Opera Carriage.
Exceptionally lovely French Opera Carriage with ivorine makers plate. Both gig and horses have been fully restored to the higest level.The horses are covered in pony hide and have horsehair mane and tails. The tack, although not original, is an exact hand stitched replica and the original harness, which is very fragile has been retained and can remounted on the horses if required. The plush velvet seats have been colour matched to the original remains and the orginal golden silk buttons have been retained and reused.This is an exceptionaly rare piece and is believed by the Paris toy museum to have been a custom piece made to order as they have no records of this particular style of toy.
