Description

Antique Regency Pollard Oak Work Box.

A good-sized Pollard Oak sewing/work box. Would also make a super jewellery box.

The front drawer has its original fitted interior. It contains many lift out sections and divisions. The drawer can be locked in place with its metal pin.

Inside the lid has a drop down folder compartment for booklets or papers. This is held in place by its catch when not used.

Nice Boxwood inlay to edges.

Fully working lock and one key. Lid closes well as it should do.

Stop hinges to the lid.

Dates to around the 1820s.

Polish has nice shine to it, does not show that well and timbers are very nice with super golden colours, bringing out the grain and burr patterns.

Seated on brass ball feet and flower basket ring handles to sides.

Please note this is over a 200 year old box, so there will be signs of age and movement of timbers and veneers.
