Description

A fine George III hooded wall clock by Henry Deykin of Worcester (recorded 1751–1788, son of Thomas Deykin), the brass dial signed Hen. Deykin, Worcester, No.1572. The square dial with Roman numerals, decorative spandrels and finely pierced steel hands. The oak hood with moulded cornice and shaped bracket supports. Fitted with a dead beat escapement and long pendulum with brass bob and weight.

Henry Deykin is a recorded maker in Britten’s Old Clocks & Watches (1751–1788), and this example represents a fine piece of provincial 18th century horology.
