Description

A beautiful, restored, early Victorian chest, circa 1850, on turned, shaped ball feet. Restored drawer runners where necessary, so drawers glide easily in their recesses. All round dovetailed construction and thick timber drawer bases. Large storage capacity due to deep drawers front to back. Original escutcheons and fine panelled back. Originally with wood knobs, the handles were changed as fashions changed and replaced probably around 1890, with Art Nouveau design plate handles. Beautifully grained timber, wax finish, a fine old pine chest.
