S and H Antique Pine Furniture

Description

A beautiful, large, restored Victorian pine linen box, on a 5 1/2" deep plinth surround. The box has all round dovetailed construction, so very sturdy. The lid is constructed on a frame and is 3/4" thick. Heavy duty lock with key, with double lock mechanism. We are unable to guatentee the continued working of the lock, but in fine working order at present. Above the lock, fitted on the lid is a 3/8" brass knob, to assist in opening the lid. Original hinged, brass escutcheon and 4" heavy brass hinges and cast carrying handles.
The interior of the box has an excellent T & G base, constructed from 6" boards. Underneath are 4 castors, which allow for lateral movement. The interior is fitted with a deep candle compartment and below, 2 mahogany fronted drawers, with all round dovetailed construction. Wax finish. An exception large linen box.
