Description

A rare early 19th century primitive English school oil on tin painting, depicting the new way transport, the Railway. It shows and early steam engine and carriages crossing a high viaduct, to the left there is a ruined castle and in the foreground there are cattle and sheep in a field.
We have tried to research the scene and the northeast of England or Wales have been suggested. This is a very unusual piece, and great for collectors of early Railwayana. The unrestored condition is reasonably good for its age: there are some small paint speaks missing and the frame is loose(see pictures)

Size:Framed 40 x32 cm (33 x 25 cm)
